Your installed price is built from four things: the boat, the site, the code and the options you choose. Here is how each one moves the number, so the proposal you receive makes sense line by line.

Two neighbors with the same boat can receive very different proposals, because their canals, seawalls and city rules are different. Every number below traces back to one of these four inputs.
Loaded weight, beam and hull shape set capacity and cradle design.
Water depth, pilings, seawall and access set the structure and labor.
Setbacks, projection limits and permits set what is allowed.
Lift style, power, remotes, bunks and canopies finish the spec.
These broad South Florida market ranges are for early budgeting only. Scope and quality vary widely, and your Boat Lift Installers LLC price comes from a written proposal built around your boat and property.
| Lift / application | Typical planning range | Common use |
|---|---|---|
| PWC / jet ski lift | $3,000 to $10,000 | One personal watercraft; piling, swivel, floating or specialty mounts. |
| 7,000 to 10,000 lb four-post | $8,000 to $16,000 | Many bay boats and center consoles, subject to loaded weight and geometry. |
| 14,000 to 16,000 lb four-post | $14,000 to $24,000 | Larger center consoles, cruisers and heavier twin-engine boats. |
| 20,000 to 30,000 lb large-capacity | $20,000 to $45,000+ | Large offshore boats and high-load applications; often more motors and structure. |
| Elevator / no-profile | $18,000 to $42,000+ | Seawall or restricted-piling locations; varies heavily by capacity and mounting. |
| Yacht / custom platform | $45,000 to $75,000+ | Large vessels, custom engineering, high capacity, complex access or specialty support. |
A useful early allowance is about $3,000 to $15,000+. The upper end applies to larger yacht lifts, custom fabrication, difficult access, deep water, piling work, barges or cranes, and complex structural or electrical scope. Some installed-price ranges above already include part of this work, so confirm what each proposal includes.
Lift selection starts with the vessel as it will actually sit on the lift, not the brochure’s dry weight or overall length. A lift that can raise the weight may still be unable to safely fit or support the hull.
Year, make, model, length, beam, published dry weight, engine quantity and model, fuel and water capacity, major options, photos, and how the boat is normally loaded. Exact data is the difference between an estimate and a proposal.
A lift must fit the boat and the legal envelope at the property. In South Florida, the city, county, water-management and environmental agencies, federal jurisdiction, recorded property lines, easements and HOA rules can all shape the project.
How far into the water you may build.
How close to your neighbors you may build.
Under ULDR Section 47-19.3, a raised lift may generally project 25% of the waterway width or 25 ft, whichever is less. A 60-ft canal allows 15 ft; an 80-ft canal allows 20 ft; a 120-ft canal reaches the 25-ft cap. Other cities use different rules. Compare them in our city setback guide.
We review the proposed location, the vessel envelope, lift style, setbacks, waterway projection and likely permit path before we finalize the system. Final authority rests with the reviewing agencies and approved plans.
The right style depends on the boat, the waterfront structure, canal, water depth, tides, access, how you use the boat and local rules.
| Style | Best fit and cost drivers |
|---|---|
| Four-post cradle | The common residential choice with broad capacity options. Cost follows pilings, capacity, motor count, cradle geometry, depth, access and options. |
| Elevator / no-profile | For seawalls, limited-projection sites or where vertical pilings are impractical. Mounting, beam length, tie-backs, capacity, anodes, disconnect and corrosion protection drive price. |
| PWC / small watercraft | Piling, dock, seawall, swivel or floating mounts. Quantity, mounting and access can make multiple units a bigger project than expected. |
| Boathouse / deck lift | Depends on the supporting roof or framing, engineering, clearances, structural upgrades, drive arrangement and code compliance. |
| Floating / drive-on | Useful where water levels or fixed structures favor floating. Module size, anchoring, access, depth, current and permitting affect cost. |
| Yacht / custom | High capacity, wide beam, custom bunks, multiple motors, engineered support, heavy equipment and deeper foundations can move pricing well beyond standard ranges. |
Choosing a style before checking the legal projection, vessel beam, loaded weight, seawall or piling condition, water depth and installation access can create redesign costs or an unusable proposal.
Below the waterline and around the property.
Power, controls and upgrades.
Survey, sealed drawings, structural or electrical engineering, environmental information, owner authorization, HOA approval and applications. City and county fees, state or federal review where it applies, revisions, inspections and possible hearings or waivers. Rules and fees differ by address and change over time, and review times cannot be guaranteed.
A useful proposal names every one of these. If a line is missing, ask who is responsible for it.
We recommend professional service twice a year and after storms, flooding, impacts, electrical faults or abnormal operation. A documented service history helps support factory and contractor installation warranties, subject to their written terms.
Many residential projects fall roughly between $8,000 and $45,000+ installed. Small PWC systems can be lower, and large elevator, yacht, custom, deep-water or piling-intensive projects can be substantially higher. Your exact price depends on the boat, the site, the code and the options.
Sometimes partly. Budget an early allowance of about $3,000 to $15,000+ for installation and site work, and confirm what each proposal already includes so it is not counted twice.
Usually scope. One proposal may include pilings, electrical, engineering, permits and removal while another excludes them. Compare the lift make and capacity, structural components, electrical work, permitting, exclusions, warranty and service support.
We can talk through a planning range. A real number needs your boat’s loaded weight and beam, a look at the site, and a check of the code for your address. Then we put it in writing.
